Job description

Our client a leading boutique litigation firm, is seeking an attorney with litigation experience to join its Salt Lake City law firm. The firm's practice includes medical malpractice defense, insurance defense, insurance coverage, health care law, professional liability defense, and other complex civil litigation matters.

Position Overview

The attorney hired for this position will assist with the firm's medical malpractice defense cases and other litigation matters. The attorney will be given responsibility for handling cases at all stages of litigation, from initial case assessment and strategy, discovery, to trial. The attorney's responsibilities will including drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery requests; taking and defending depositions; appearing in court for hearings, conferences, and other proceedings; working with clients, insurers, experts, witnesses, and opposing counsel; and preparing cases for mediation, arbitration, and trial.

Qualifications

  • Applicants should have litigation experience; strong legal research, writing, and analytical skill; ability to manage cases independently; excellent judgment, professionalism, and attention to detail; and membership in the Utah Bar (or the ability to obtain membership in the Utah Bar). Trial experience is a plus, but is not required.
