Responsibilities
The Medical Technologist III has responsibility for technical and regulatory over sight of one or more laboratory sections and performs the duties of a Medical Technologist II.
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED
  1. Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution and applicants must be eligible for an appropriate certification examination.
    1. Acceptable certifying agencies include: ASCP, NCA, AMT, AAB, HHS (HEW)

OR
  1. Associates Degree in laboratory science (Chemical or Biological Science) or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution and certification as a Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Scientist or Clinical Laboratory Scientist.
    1. Acceptable certifying agencies include: ASCP, NCA, AMT, AAB, HHS (HEW)

OR
  1. Graduate of a Military Program in Science (health science, biology, chemical, physical, medical technology) and certification as a Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Scientist or Clinical Laboratory Scientist
  2. Acceptable certifying agencies include ASCP, NCA, AMT, AAB, HHS (HEW)

OR
  1. Grandfathered Medical Technologist by having previously qualified as a technologist on or before February 28, 1992 and current certification as a Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Scientist or Clinical Laboratory Scientist .
  2. Acceptable certifying agencies include ASCP, NCA, AMT, AAB, HHS (HEW

  1. One (1) year experience in a clinical laboratory
  1. Ability to implement and perform clinical laboratory procedures according to proper standards and regulations.
  2. Must submit to a Color-Acuity screening Test

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION PREFERRED
Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
