Foth is seeking an experienced Engineering Project Manager to lead capital and improvement projects for manufacturing clients in the paper, converting, tissue, packaging, printing, and other paper products industries. This role serves as the primary client interface and is responsible for the successful execution of multi-discipline engineering projects from scope development through installation and start-up.

This position can be based in Green Bay, WI; Madison, WI; Milwaukee, WI; Minneapolis, MN or remotely within the U.S.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary client contact for project activities, including scope development, proposal support, conflict resolution, and long-term relationship management

  • Lead the planning and execution of multi-discipline capital projects, ensuring successful delivery within budget, schedule, and contractual requirements

  • Manage all phases of project execution, including scope definition, engineering, procurement, construction support, commissioning, and start-up

  • Direct and coordinate engineering teams, subcontractors, vendors, OEM service representatives, and contractors to achieve project objectives

  • Manage project scope and ensure all changes are properly documented, evaluated, and executed

  • Coordinate procurement activities, including bid solicitation, evaluation, contract awards, and equipment purchasing strategies

  • Partner closely with construction management resources during installation, technical check-out, and start-up activities

  • Develop and promote compliance with project-specific safety plans and Foth and client safety standards

  • Anticipate project challenges and work collaboratively with clients, engineering teams, OEMs, and contractors to identify and implement corrective actions

  • Identify opportunities for improved project execution, operational efficiency, and future business development

  • Participate in client-facing presentations, project reviews, and proposal development efforts

  • Travel as required for project planning, design reviews, installations, start-ups, and troubleshooting activities (approximately 25-35%)

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Paper Science, or related discipline) or equivalent technical experience

  • 5+ years of project management experience leading capital projects in manufacturing environments

  • Experience within paper making, paper or plastics converting, building materials, chemical manufacturing markets, or other similar industries

  • Experience leading multi-discipline project teams through planning, design, procurement, construction, and start-up

  • Experience developing project scopes, schedules, budgets, and execution strategies

  • Experience utilizing project management tools for schedule and financial tracking

Preferred Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience within the paper, converting, tissue, packaging, or broader pulp and paper industry

  • 7+ years of project management experience leading multi-discipline engineering teams

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or ability to obtain

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license

  • Success working in a consulting environment

  • Experience with multiple contracting models including lump sum, time and materials, and guaranteed maximum price agreements

  • Strong communication skills with experience facilitating discussions and presenting to both internal and external stakeholdersย
