Job description

EMSL is seeking a Laboratory Analyst (Microbiology) in Denver. No laboratory experience is required, just a desire to learn technical skills and become proficient in common laboratory practices and procedures. On-the-job training will be provided for all new employees.Essential duties and responsibilitiesPreparation and analysis of Microbiological samples (air, water, and bulk materials) for fungi and bacteriaClassical and advanced methods for microbial and bio-aerosol analysisGenerate analytical reports and enter data into the LIMS systemClean, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment as neededPerform quality control practices per company Quality Assurance/Quality Control manualAdministrative duties including sample login and data entry, scanning and emailing reports and answering phonesOther responsibilities as deemed necessary by the managerRequirements:Bachelors Degree in Life Science is required, preferably in Biology or MicrobiologyAuthorization to work in the United States indefinitely and without restriction or sponsorshipLaboratory experience either in academic or commercial setting is a plusExperience with spore traps, direct microscopic exam, other culture-based microbiology, bacteriology, or mycology is a plusAbility to work with phase contrast and light microscopes, analytical balances, biological safety cabinets, filtration manifolds, and adhere to sterile techniques and good lab practicesAbility to distinguish colors in order to perform analysisAbility to work independently, and as a part of a team, self-motivated, adaptability, and a positive attitudeEffective time management organizational skills, and ability to multi- task and prioritize with minimal assistanceAvailable shift:Positions is full-time time Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.Candidate currently living within a commutable distance of Denver are encouraged to applyEMSL offers full time benefits: medical, dental, 401(k), voluntary benefits, paid time off, holiday pay and a flexible spending account.
