Job description

Accounts Receivable (AR) Insurance Follow-Up Specialist

The Accounts Receivable (AR) Insurance Follow-Up Specialist will be responsible for the following:

  1. Answers billing and payment related questions for patients.
  2. Follows the claims process and assure this is completed in a timely manner.
  3. Files appeals for denied claims.
  4. Processes refund requests for insurance companies.

Education Experience: Ideal candidates will possess the following skills and experiences:

  • Minimum of high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum of two (2) years experience working in AF followup for a physician practice preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD and CPT codes.
  • Ability to read EOB's and process denials and payments
  • Knowledge of payer rules for filing claims
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Previous orthopedic billing experience preferred.
