Job description

The Field Service Engineer I is an entry-level role for someone starting their career in on-site medical imaging service. Working under close supervision, this position assists with troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and repair of high-end medical imaging systems while building foundational field service skills. The focus is on learning the industry and applying documented processes and safety standards, with issues outside scope escalated to senior engineers or the Service Manager.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist in troubleshooting imaging systems and equipment under supervisionSupport repair of issues with imaging applications, electrical components, hardware, and networkingSupport system relocations, installations, and de-installationsPerform system inspections, preventative maintenance, calibrations, and QA checksFollow service manuals and schematics for accurate, consistent workDocument all work performed per ISO quality and regulatory standardsEscalate out-of-scope issues appropriatelyMaintain professional interactions with radiologists, technicians, and physiciansRequirementsAS/AA in Electronics, Electromechanical Technology, Computer Science, Biomedical Technology, or equivalent military training preferred0–2 years field service or technical experience; entry-level welcomedPrior exposure to imaging modalities a plusFoundational electronics/electrical/computer hardware knowledgeStrong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures preciselyClear written/verbal communication skillsProficient in MS Office; ERP knowledge a plusValid driver's license, clean driving recordTravel & ScheduleUp to 75% travel requiredOn-call rotation after trainingPhysical & EnvironmentalFrequent standing, walking, occasional lifting (25–50 lbs)Use of hand/power tools, ESD protection, and PPE as neededPotential exposure to radiation, electrical hazards, and bloodborne pathogens; OSHA and safety compliance required
