SUMMARY
Manages and oversees the maintenance of athletic and sports equipment for BUSD40 District's athletic sports programs and special events. Coordinates and maintains gyms, weight rooms, playing fields, and/or other sports facilities and surfaces as appropriate. Preference will be given to those with athletic training experience.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or GED. Security experience and/or athletic training experience is preferred. CPR/first aid certified. Compliance with all NFHS and AIA rules and regulations is required in this position. Valid Arizona DPS IVP Fingerprint Card
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
THE LIST OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS IS NOT EXHAUSTIVE AND MAY BE SUPPLEMENTED.
  • Ensures all uniforms and/or equipment are returned in good condition (wear & tear expected), and coordinates with athletic director, coaches, parents, and students to ensure all parties are aware of BUSD40 Athletic Policy regarding any unreturned uniforms or equipment.
  • Establishes, maintains, and distributes all athletic uniforms and equipment. Oversees uniform and equipment distribution and retrieval at practices and on game day. Organizes sign-in and sign-out procedures for uniforms and equipment with coaches and other personnel related to student activities
  • Assist in updating and maintaining a comprehensive inventory for every uniform, athletic equipment (Game balls, training/fitness equipment, weights & barbells, game day equipment, etc), medical supplies, and any other equipment related to athletics and/or facilities management. Assist athletic director in assessing and recommending new supplies for purchase.
  • Assists in coordinating all game day equipment preparations and setup for games (i.e. setting up game day equipment, inspecting playing surfaces, water for teams and officials, flags displayed, EMTs contacted, visiting team rooms are clean, and game official lockers are clean and refreshments available).
  • Assists in day-to-day sports activities and the maintenance of sports facilities: gyms, weight rooms, fields, training room, etc.
  • Helps to serve as Campus/Event Security and Game Administration for officials and assists in gamesmanship enforcement in conjunction with athletic director.
  • Assist in promoting a safe game environment and facilitates any special requests from game officials to enhance safety.
  • Monitors and enforces violations of BUSD40 "spectator conduct policy" and, if need be, assists in enforcing any ejections requested by game officials or school administration.
  • Renders first aid/CPR or athletic training care as needed
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

MENTAL TASKS
  • Knowledge of supplies, equipment, and/or services ordering and inventory control.
  • Knowledge of athletic, mechanical, and electronic equipment, supplies, and/or uniform repair.
  • Knowledge of playing surface requirements
  • Records maintenance skills.
  • Knowledge of BUSD40 accounting procedures involving procurement.
  • Organizing and coordinating skills.
  • Ability to lead, train, and functionally assist coaching staff and supervision of students

PHYSICAL TASKS
  • Moderate physical activity. Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 100 pounds or standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day.
  • Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
  • Work may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.

EQUIPMENT, AIDS, TOOLS, MATERIALS
Utilizes standard office and educational tech equipment as needed to increase effectiveness.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Indoors. Office and classroom environment. Outdoor. Campus environment. Contact with employees, students, parent and public. Exposure to all weather conditions/temperatures, noise.
CONTROL, SUPERVISION
This position has no supervisory responsibilities, except to supervise students.
