Job description

In this role, you will leverage your experience developing, designing and managing Transportation projects and teams. You will be the Lead Engineer fortransportation infrastructure projects with TDOT and other state and local municipalities. This will include, but not be limited to:

  • Leading the highway/roadway design team for moderate to large projects and working independently on smaller projects
  • Performing analysis and design calculationsfor highway/roadway projects
  • Preparing scopes, budgets, schedules
  • Technical liaison with clients on project efforts and coordinate technical efforts within discipline areas.
  • Managing day-to-day communication with the client, supporting and advising engineers and technical staff, writing reports and technical memos, coordinating with sub-consultants
  • Organizing scheduling of specific tasks and assignments, keeping the project on schedule and within budget
  • Assisting with proposal preparation and business development/project pursuits.
  • Other duties as needed.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE) from an ABET accredited university.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License in Tennessee (TN)
  • TDOT experience
  • Minimum five (5) years highway/roadway design experience
  • Excellent attention to detail, provide accurate and high-quality design.
  • Able to lead and work collaboratively within a design team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in key design platforms such as OpenRoads 3D, MicroStation, Bentley, Geopak, etc. and conventional software such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint

Reporting to: This position will work within our Civil/Transportation group under the direction of the Transportation Director.
