Infection Prevention Medical Director / Infectious Disease Physician – FT – Boise, ID

Opportunity: Infectious Disease

Saint Alphonsus Medical Group (SAMG) is a physician‑led, 650+ provider multispecialty group seeking a clinician to join an established Infectious Disease department at Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise. The Provider will serve as Medical Director for Inpatient Infection Control, building Infectious Disease and Infection Prevention programs primarily at the Boise hospital campus. EPIC is used for EHR.

Responsibilities
  • Direct involvement in managing OPAT patients
  • Conduct follow‑up evaluations for patients referred for Infectious Disease management
  • Follow through on physician's plan of care
  • Order and interpret appropriate diagnostic testing and labs
  • Prescribe appropriate treatment and conduct patient education
  • Chair Infection Prevention Committee
  • Collaborate and consult with healthcare providers in assessment and management of patients and colleagues with communicable diseases
  • Provide oversight of surveillance for healthcare‑associated infections
Qualifications
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree
  • Successful completion of an accredited Internal Medicine residency program
  • Successful completion of an accredited Infectious Disease fellowship
  • Board certified in Internal Medicine and Infectious Disease or obtain such certification within 3 years of employment
  • Obtain Idaho medical licensure to practice medicine in all its phases
  • Valid controlled substance registration with Idaho Boards of Pharmacy & DEA
  • 2 years of experience in Infection Control or Infectious Disease preferred
