Software Test Engineer - Medical Device Integration (Bedford, MA) Job Description

You will join a high‑performing software team in Philips Image Guided Therapy (IGT). In this role, you will focus on testing and verifying software solutions within the cardiovascular diagnostic space. You will ensure that the software application meets all functional, safety, and performance requirements and successfully implements effective risk control measures.

Your Role
  • Collaborate with Product Management and the Product Owner to create customer journey maps and user story mappings that define new software functionality. Ensure alignment of business needs with development goals.
  • Work closely with the Product Owner and development team to ensure software requirements are complete, clear, and testable. Support high‑quality delivery by validating requirements readiness.
  • Develop and document comprehensive test artifacts, including test scenarios, test plans, and test cases. Cover multiple testing types such as functional, performance, reliability, safety, and localization.
  • Establish full traceability between requirements and test cases to achieve 100% test coverage. Ensure all requirements are validated through structured testing processes.
  • Participate actively in Scrum teams and risk management activities such as FMEA. Contribute to sprint execution, test case development, and validation of software releases while identifying and mitigating risks.
Qualifications
  • 4+ years of experience as an individual contributor working as a Software Test Engineer, Verification Engineer, or in a similar role.
  • Strong skills in test case management tools such as Jama, Jira, TestComplete, Quality Center and desktop test automation tools such as Qt Squish, PyTest, WinAppDriver. Experience in regulated environments and compliance‑driven testing is a bonus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience collaborating with global software development teams and strong communication, coordination, and cross‑functional teamwork skills.
  • Must be able to perform the minimum Physical, Cognitive and Environmental job requirements with or without accommodation for this position.
Work Arrangements

We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office‑based teams, this means working in‑person at least 3 days per week. Onsite roles require full‑time presence in the company’s facilities. Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.

This is an office‑based role, and the expectation will be 5 days a week in our Bedford, MA office.

Transparency Details

The pay range for this position in MA is $115,000 - $182,000. The actual base pay offered may vary within the posted ranges depending on multiple factors including job‑related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.

In addition, other compensation such as an annual incentive bonus, sales commission or long‑term incentives may be offered. Employees are eligible to participate in our comprehensive Philips Total Rewards benefits program, which includes generous PTO, 401(k) up to 7% match, HSA with company contribution, stock purchase plan, education reimbursement and much more.
