Job Summary:

Nova Biomedical is seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer with expertise in developing Linux-based software for medical devices. This role will design, develop, and maintain applications with integrated TCP/IP-based communication protocols.

The Senior Software Engineer will apply a strong background in building high-performance, scalable, and reliable systems, including concurrent and multithreaded system design. This individual will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop robust technical solutions, troubleshoot complex software issues, and continuously improve software design practices, code quality, and development processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain C/C++ applications in Linux environments at both the user-space and kernel levels.
  • Develop and maintain TCP/IP socket-based communication systems.
  • Design reliable, scalable, concurrent, and multithreaded software systems.
  • Develop software for ARM-based architectures.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of networking protocols, including DHCP and TCP/IP.
  • Support network security protocols, including SSL/TLS.
  • Develop and maintain functionality involving Wi-Fi 802.11 protocols and encryption standards, including WPA, WPA2, and WPA3.
  • Integrate NFC and RFID readers into Linux-based environments.
  • Work with cross-compiler toolchains to support embedded software development.
  • Develop and maintain shell scripts to support software development, testing, deployment, and troubleshooting activities.
  • Use version control systems such as Git and SVN to maintain software code and development history.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver robust technical solutions.
  • Participate in software architecture, design, and code reviews.
  • Troubleshoot and debug complex software and system-level issues.
  • Identify root causes and implement effective corrective solutions.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement in software design practices, code quality, development tools, and engineering processes.
  • Create and maintain clear technical documentation in accordance with software development and quality requirements.
  • Support software development activities throughout the medical device product lifecycle.
  • Travel occasionally to customer locations to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues.

Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field required.
  • 8+ years of professional software development experience.
  • Software development experience within the medical device industry required.
  • Advanced experience developing C/C++ applications in Linux environments at both the user-space and kernel levels.
  • Experience designing and developing concurrent and multithreaded systems.
  • Experience developing high-performance, scalable, and reliable software systems.
  • Experience with ARM architecture.

Targeted Salary Range: $140,000 - $175,000/year
