What is a medical device technician?

Medical Device Technicians are professionals who install, maintain, calibrate, and repair medical equipment used in healthcare settings, such as hospitals and clinics. They ensure that devices like defibrillators, patient monitors, and imaging machines are functioning safely and efficiently. These technicians may also train healthcare staff on the proper use of equipment and keep detailed records of maintenance and repairs. Their work is crucial for patient safety and the smooth operation of medical facilities.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a medical device technician?

To thrive as a Medical Device Technician, you need a solid understanding of electronics, biomedical equipment, and troubleshooting, often supported by an associate degree in biomedical technology or a related field.
