Are you an engineer or technical professional looking to expand your career beyond design, development, implementation, or field execution? As an Associate Project Manager, you will support the successful delivery of ITS projects, working alongside experienced project managers, engineers, customers, contractors, and transportation agencies. You'll gain hands-on experience in project planning, customer engagement, budgeting, scheduling, risk management, and team coordination while building the skills needed for a long-term career in project management.

How You'll Make an Impact:

  • Support the planning, coordination, and execution of customer traffic projects.
  • Assist with project schedules, budgets, milestones, status reporting, and documentation.
  • Monitor project progress to help ensure deliverables are completed on time and within scope.
  • Coordinate activities across engineering, operations, field services, procurement, customers, and suppliers.
  • Communicate project updates, action items, and milestones to stakeholders.
  • Apply your technical background to support the deployment and integration of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), including traffic management systems, SCADA systems, traffic signals, vehicle detection, CCTV, dynamic message signs (DMS), connected vehicle infrastructure, communications networks, and software integration.
  • Bridge communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Support contract administration, change management, financial tracking, and risk identification.
  • Collaborate with experienced engineers and technical specialists to deliver successful project outcomes.

What Makes You a Great fit:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Science, Construction Management, or a related technical field.
  • 1-4 years of experience in an engineering, technical, operations, implementation, commissioning, or project support role.
  • Process driven with organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a team environment.

Bonus Qualifications:

  • Experience in ITS, Traffic, transportation, SCADA System Integration, industrial, defense, software, automation, infrastructure, or telecommunications
  • Familiarity with traffic signal systems, transportation communications networks, ITS software platforms, or field device integration.
  • Knowledge of transportation industry standards and practices.
  • Experience working directly with customers, vendors, or cross-functional project teams.
  • Exposure to project scheduling, budgeting, or project coordination activities.
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools.
  • Interest in pursuing project management certifications such as CAPM, PMP, IPMA, or Agile certifications.
