Job Summary:
This position is responsible for leading complex technical projects assigned within the dental business unit. This role will utilize strong technical expertise to execute projects on time, on budget and within scope. This includes optimizing the project and portfolio management methodologies via training and coaching, the development of and maintenance of new tools and processes.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Lead cross-functional development teams through the design and development process from concept/initiation through development, regulatory activities, manufacturing transfer and commercialization - ensuring alignment with strategic objectives, timelines, budgets and stakeholder expectations.
  • Own development and execution of integrated project plans, including scope definition, resource planning, and schedule management, ensuring cross-functional alignment and accountability.
  • Facilitate project initiation by defining scope, developing project plan, establishing master schedule, and conducting project kick-off and ongoing team meetings.
  • Build consensus on project plans taking into account task sequencing and interdependencies.
  • Drive project execution by proactively identifying risks, developing mitigation strategies, resolving issues, and escalating critical concerns to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure effective resource allocation, resolve constraints, and maintain alignment on priorities, deliverables, and timelines.
  • Monitor and report on project and portfolio performance using key metrics, dashboards, and presentations, providing clear and actionable insights to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Ensure adherence to new product development (NPD) and design control processes, maintaining compliance with quality system and regulatory requirements.
  • Collect and analyze key performance metrics to evaluate new product development effectiveness and report results to stakeholders.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including leadership, with appropriate technical and regulatory knowledge and detail (e.g., international regulatory registrations, product development requirements).
  • Mentor and develop Associate Project Managers with project management best practices, tools, leadership and continuous improvement.

Education/Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor degree in Engineering discipline required (Mechanical, Biomedical preferred), a Master degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 6-8 years' experience working in a medical device regulated environment required, new product development preferred.
  • Certified Project Manager Professional (PMP) is preferred but not a requirement of the job. Other certifications or equivalent work experience are acceptable.
  • Computer skills including proficiency using MS Office Applications and Project Management software such as MS Project or SmartSheet are required.
