About the Position

Pond is seeking an experienced Business Development professional to drive strategic growth in the advanced manufacturing sector, with a focus on designing medical device manufacturing facilities. The ideal candidate brings a strong industry network and a proven track record of success in process-driven sales within an AEC (Architecture, Engineering, and Construction Management) environment. This individual will play a critical role in expanding Pond’s national presence by identifying and converting high-value opportunities with advanced manufacturing clients.

This is a high-impact role for a results-driven professional who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. You’ll work closely with senior leadership, market directors, and technical teams to position Pond’s integrated AEC capabilities to meet the unique regulatory and operational challenges of advanced manufacturing clients.

This position can be located remotely in the continental United States, preference will be given to candidates in the Atlanta, GA area.

All Pond & Company positions require participation in at least one in-person interview as part of our hiring process, and most roles also require in-person onboarding at a Pond office location; candidates for remote roles should expect to meet directly with our team and should be cautious of any communication suggesting otherwise. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive business development across medical device manufacturing markets.
  • Lead the full business development lifecycle for medical device manufacturing facility design projects: prospecting, lead qualification, pursuit strategy, proposal development, and closing.
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline, tracking activity in CRM platforms (Deltek Vision/Vantagepoint).
  • Collaborate with marketing, proposal teams, and technical subject matter experts to create client-focused strategies and materials.
  • Deliver executive-level client presentations and pursuit strategies tailored to highly regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Partner closely with project management and engineering teams to align client requirements with technical solutions, including process engineering and facility design.
  • Travel as required for client engagement, team coordination, and industry events.

 

Required Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Business, Life Sciences, or related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of B2B sales experience in the AEC industry, with demonstrated success in medical device manufacturing facility design projects.
  • Ability to build and grow a book of business in regulated and compliance-driven environments.
  • Strong understanding of how A/E/CM services support facility design, production processes, process engineering, and validation requirements.
  • Familiarity with CRM and sales tools (Salesforce, Deltek, ZoomInfo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator).
  • Excellent executive-level communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to lead cross-functional pursuit teams.
  • Ability to travel 30–50% as needed.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience navigating complex, long-cycle sales and procurement processes.
  • Familiarity with regulatory and compliance standards across advanced manufacturing sectors.
  • Knowledge of cleanrooms, sterilization, process facilities, and distribution networks.
  • Background in developing go-to-market strategies or launching new service offerings in technical markets.
