EMBEDDED SOFTWARE ENGINEER (LINUX, SECURITY)

DANVERS, MA - come onsite as needed - remote the rest of the time

8+ Month potential temp to perm

4 huge requirements:

  • JUST COMPLETED a Linux migration in the last year
  • Good/recent medical device experience
  • cyber security experience
  • worked in a Yocto/BitBake environment in the last 1.5 years

3 big things to look out for: Current Yocto/Linux environment, medical device experience, and cyber security experience

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in embedded software development.
  • Proficiency in Yocto/BitBake for building custom Linux distributions.
  • Expert Linux OS and CLI skills
  • Solid understanding of network protocols and experience with industry standard USB and Network/WiFi applications.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms, especially Azure, and IoT integrations.
  • Deep understanding of cybersecurity principles and experience in implementing security measures in embedded systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with C/C++ programming languages.
  • Previous contact with containerization / virtualization
  • Knowledge of agile development methodologies.
  • Understanding of hardware design and debugging techniques.
  • Familiarity with version control systems, such as Git.
