The  Principal Marketing Data Analyst is a strategic thought partner who transforms complex commercial, customer, financial, and market data into insights that drive business decisions and shape franchise strategy. This role leads high-impact analytics that support growth planning, performance optimization, and business execution, helping leaders make faster, more confident decisions. The ideal candidate is intellectually curious, commercially minded, and skilled at connecting disparate data sources into clear business narratives that guide action. Success in this role requires strong analytical rigor, the ability to navigate ambiguity and influence without authority, and a talent for translating complex insights into actionable recommendations that drive alignment and results. 

Work model, sponsorship, relocation:

At Boston Scientific, we value collaboration and synergy. This role follows a hybrid work model requiring employees to be in our local Maple Grove office at least three days per week. Boston Scientific will not offer sponsorship or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this position at this time. Relocation assistance is not available for this position at this time.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Lead analysis that informs franchise strategy, growth planning, customer segmentation, targeting, and field execution priorities.  
  • Synthesize market data into executive-ready recommendations and actionable business decisions.  
  • Build and enhance dashboards, reporting tools, and KPI frameworks to identify performance gaps, root causes, and growth opportunities.  
  • Lead forecasting, scenario planning, financial modeling, business case development, and ROI analyses to support annual operating planning and investment decisions.  
  • Lead analytics workstreams for strategic initiatives, product launches, and key business priorities.  
  • Partner across marketing, sales operations, clinical, health economics, finance, and field leadership to address business questions and influence decision-making.  
  • Present insights and recommendations to senior stakeholders in a concise, compelling, and action-oriented manner.  
  • Improve commercial data platforms, reporting consistency, and analytics processes to increase efficiency, scalability, and decision quality.  
  • Prioritize and execute ad hoc analytical requests while balancing speed, rigor, and business impact. 

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Marketing Analytics, Data Analytics, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in an analytical role within marketing, sales operations, finance, commercial strategy, business analytics, or a similar function.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex datasets into clear business recommendations and executive-ready narratives.
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills, with experience using Tableau, Power BI, or other data visualization platforms.
  • Experience extracting, querying, validating, and synthesizing data from multiple sources; SQL or comparable querying experience preferred.
  • Strong business acumen, analytical curiosity, and ability to frame the next obvious question from initial findings.
  • Strong presentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills in a matrixed organization.
  • Experience with Salesforce or another CRM platform.

 

Preferred qualifications:

  • Medical device, healthcare, life sciences, or regulated-industry experience.
  • Experience supporting commercial franchises, field teams, product launches, or therapy adoption initiatives.
  • Experience with segmentation, targeting, customer analytics, market modeling, or sales force effectiveness.
  • Comfort working with senior leaders and converting ambiguous questions into structured analyses and recommendations.
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution and attention to data quality.
