Job Title: Assembler I – Medical Device Manufacturing (2nd Shift)

Job Description

The Assembler I role performs precise assembly and testing of medical devices under direct supervision, using a variety of tools, fixtures, work instructions, and test equipment. You will work primarily in a cleanroom environment, handling small components and using a microscope for the majority of your shift to help produce devices that are used to remove blood clots and improve patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and follow detailed assembly instructions, documented processes, and standard operating procedures to correctly assemble and test medical devices.
  • Use microscopes, hand tools, and measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers to perform small-part, high-volume mechanical and electrical assembly tasks.
  • Comply with all policies, guidelines, and regulatory requirements in accordance with the Quality System and cleanroom standards.
  • Report problems with product quality, processes, equipment, and materials promptly to the appropriate engineering or supervisory staff.
  • Inspect various raw materials and small components, including catheters, to ensure they meet quality and specification requirements.
  • Provide hands-on job function training and shadow support to coworkers and new hires as needed after you are proficient in your tasks.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area to support smooth manufacturing operations and adherence to cleanroom requirements.
  • Participate in reading and learning SOPs and shadowing trainers on the first day to understand procedures and best practices.
  • Work reliably on 2nd shift and be available for overtime during weekdays and occasional Saturdays as required by production needs.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support production goals and continuous improvement initiatives.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of 6 months of high-volume small-part assembly or production experience, preferably using a microscope.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a microscope for up to 90% of the shift for inspection and assembly of small components.
  • Hands-on experience with small-part assembly, including handling and inspecting delicate materials and catheters.
  • Ability to work effectively in a cleanroom environment, following strict cleanliness and contamination control procedures.
  • Proficiency using hand tools and measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers in a production or assembly setting.
  • Strong communication skills to report issues, follow instructions, and collaborate with coworkers and trainers.
  • High school diploma or equivalent education.
  • Willingness and ability to work 2nd shift and be open to weekday overtime and working Saturdays when needed.
  • Consistent work history that supports reliability and commitment to the role.

  • 1 to 2+ years of medical device assembly experience is highly preferred.
  • Experience working in a cleanroom environment is strongly preferred.
