Job description

Overview

This position provides assistance to operations staff through the receipt, stocking, issuance, inventory and transportation support of supplies, equipment, and records.

Responsibilities

Inventories and restocks medical equipment and supplies in stockroom and on ambulances. Issues required supplies and equipment to appropriate individuals and maintains inventory of items. Maintains complete and accurate inventory and asset control. Manage records for medical equipment and supplies. Inspects, cleans, and repairs medical equipment as required. Completes records and reports in a timely manner. Ensures proper safeguarding of equipment and supplies. Examines material received, verifies content, and checks for discrepancies. Communicates with supervisors to maintain awareness of inventory levels. Maintains a safe and clean work area and maintains cleanliness of vehicle inside and out and does not smoke nor permit any passenger to smoke in a HEMSI vehicle. Performs all courier runs in a timely manner. Expected to be able to physically and legally drive an any given time. This is to include the ability to drive an ambulance, non-emergency, from time-to-time to support HEMSI's needs as required by fleet management or operations.

Qualifications

Hard Skills Requirements: 1) Education: High School diploma or equivalent 2) Certifications, Licenses, Registrations: Current driver's license Motor Vehicle Record acceptable to HEMSI's insurance 3) Mathematical Skills - Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Soft Skills Requirements: 1) Language Skills - Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. 2) Computer Skills - To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software. Physical Demands and Work Environment:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move more than 120 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts and high, precarious places. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
