Overview

A Medical Courier is responsible for safely transporting medical items such as lab specimens, blood samples, pharmaceuticals, medical records, and equipment between healthcare facilities, laboratories, clinics, and hospitals. This role is critical in supporting patient care by ensuring timely and secure deliveries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Pick up and deliver medical specimens, lab samples, and supplies to designated locations
  • Follow strict handling and transportation protocols (including biohazard and temperature-sensitive items)
  • Ensure all deliveries are completed accurately and on schedule
  • Maintain chain-of-custody documentation and delivery logs
  • Verify contents and obtain signatures upon pickup and delivery
  • Handle sensitive and confidential patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations
  • Inspect vehicle regularly and ensure it is clean and in good working condition
