Position
Rocky Mountain Laboratories is seeking a reliable 1099 contractor for emergency coverage as part of our courier team. This role is essential for ensuring the timely and secure transport of medical-related materials to and from internal and external customers. Shifts are likely to occur during evenings or overnight hours, providing critical support to our laboratory and client operations.
Description
Emergency coverage courier position. 1099 contracted role.
Schedule:
  • One shift guaranteed per week(6 hours). Shifts start at 3:00 p.m. and end between 10:00 p.m. and 1 am, depending on the route.

Responsibilities:
  • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of medical specimens to designated destinations, adhering to emergency coverage needs
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the company vehicle, including regular inspections and reporting any maintenance issues
  • Adhere to all relevant safety regulations and guidelines while operating the vehicle and handling medical specimens
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch, clients, and other team members to coordinate pickups, deliveries, and special instructions
  • Handle specimens with care and attention to detail, ensuring proper labeling, packaging, and storage during transport
  • Provide exceptional customer service by addressing any concerns or inquiries from clients or recipients during pickups and deliveries
  • Assist with loading and unloading specimens, equipment, and supplies as needed, following proper lifting and handling procedures
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of all pickups, deliveries, and related activities using company-provided software or paperwork
  • Collaborate with colleagues to troubleshoot issues or challenges encountered during daily operations
  • Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record
  • Personal liability auto insurance (no additional coverage required for company vehicle use during shift)
  • Active smartphone (Android or iPhone) with adequate data plan
  • Flexibility to work on short notice for emergency coverage
  • Minimum of 2 years of driving experience in prior roles
  • Computer proficiency
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
  • Ability to operate a vehicle for long periods and handle evening/overnight driving conditions

All positions require time zone awareness, including the impact of daylight saving time, as we are a multi-state organization with teams and partners across different U.S. time zones. Clear communication and timely coordination are essential.

  • Contractors are not eligible for the monthly bonus
