Responsibilities
The Management Trainee undergoes practical training in a physician office which serves as a training ground for him/her to learn all aspects of practice management in a systematic manner under the guidance of experienced managers. Under the direction of experienced personnel, a Management Trainee gains knowledge and experience required for promotion to future management positions. As an entry level management person, a management trainee will learn the operation of business from the ground level. Working side by side with managers, management trainees will receive hands on experience as well as an awareness of culture of the company and its business philosophy. Successful completion of the Management Trainee program is required to be considered for career opportunities such as Practice or Operations Manager, Practice Director or Program Coordinator. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to...
Practice Operations:
  • Collaborate with the practice administrator to learn the day-to-day operations of the physician practice
  • Ability to fill in for roles coordinating patient scheduling, registration, and check-in processes
  • Ability to fill in roles for surgical scheduling
  • Participate in optimizing workflow efficiency and patient throughput

Financial Management:
  • Work with the practice administrator to understand financial reporting and budgeting for the practice
  • Learn about insurance billing and reimbursement processes and ability to resolved billing issues
  • Develop a basic understanding of coding and billing practices

Human Resources:
  • Assist in recruiting and onboarding of key practice positions (front desk, MA, call center, surgical scheduler, etc)
  • Learn and develop staff training
