The Need

For over 25 years, IJM has pioneered the work to protect vulnerable people from violence. 9 out of 9 times in the last decade, IJM's Justice System Strengthening Projects have reduced slavery and violence between 50 and 85% for very large populations of people in poverty. As we grow to expand our impact to protect 500 million people from violence, we are seeking a Global Program Management Intern to join the 2026 Fall Internship class.

The Global Program Management Intern will support either the Global Programs division, South Asia region, or Asia Pacific region, which provides leadership, direction, and services on measurement and program management to our colleagues and partners to protect people in poverty from violence.

The Global Program Management Intern will support executive leaders driving the key initiatives of the division and ensuring smooth and efficient operations. Tasks may include:

  • Coordinating and supporting events and training;
  • Intranet site management;
  • Compiling reports and data;
  • Project management;
  • Participating in departmental and general IJM administrative support.

This position can be fully in-person or hybrid (onsite Tuesdays & Thursdays) in the Washington, DC area. The position requires 40 hours per week. As volunteers, interns and fellows receive a monthly stipend to help defray their expenses related toparticipatingin the internship program. This volunteer stipend is not an hourly wage, nor wages paid for services provided by the intern or fellow.

Fall internship program dates are September 14 - December 11, 2026.

General Qualifications and Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree must be in progress for DC/Remote Internships and applicants need to have completed at leasttwoyears of undergraduate study.
  • Experience with using Microsoft Suite.
  • Experience in intranet site management and resource development.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
