Spectrum Healthcare Resources has potential opportunities for a Medical Coding Trainer at Langley Air Force Base in Hampton, Virginia. 

  • Full-time opportunities, 40 hours per week (Monday-Friday) NO NIGHTS/ WEEKENDS
  • Working as a US civilian contractor employee at Naval Medical Center

Job Requirements:

The Position will have the following requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a health-related field with a minimum of 5 years clinical experience including but not limited to; acute patient care, health services, public health, long-term care administration, hospital organization and management, strategic planning and health systems.
  • Inpatient Coder (CIC), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS); AND ONE of the following recognized CDI certifications: AAPC: AAPC Approved Instructor; Certified Documentation Expert Outpatient (CDEO);Certified Documentation Expert Inpatient (CDEI), Association of Clinical Documentation Integrity Specialist (ACDIS): Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS); Clinical Documentation Specialist- Outpatient (CCDS-O) or AHIMA: Certified Documentation Improvement Practitioner (CDIP).

  • Two years in the last five years focused on inpatient coding, healthcare and coding regulations including code structure, clinical documentation, MS-DRG experience, criteria-based chart reviews (ex. Utilization Management or Case Management), and quality improvement experience working with a physician's group.

  • Active Basic Life Support certification
  • Legal Authorization to Work in the U.S.
