JOB SUMMARY The Charge Audit RN – Surgical Services is responsible for performing detailed clinical and financial review of perioperative patient encounters to ensure complete, accurate, and timely charge capture, documentation integrity, billing compliance, and revenue cycle optimization. The position audits operating room, procedural, recovery, GI, and anesthesia encounters; collaborates with physicians, nursing staff, coding, billing, and leadership; provides education regarding documentation and charging practices; and participates in quality improvement initiatives designed to improve documentation accuracy, operational efficiency, and revenue integrity.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Oklahoma or Compact RN License.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
  • Minimum three (3) years perioperative or operating room experience required.
  • Current BLS certification required.
  • ACLS and PALS certifications preferred.
  • Knowledge of perioperative documentation, charge capture, coding, and reimbursement processes.
  • Strong computer, analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to sit for extended periods while performing computer-based audits and documentation review.
  • Ability to occasionally stand, walk, bend, reach, push, pull, and lift up to 20 pounds.
  • Visual acuity and manual dexterity sufficient for extensive computer work.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person and by telephone.
  • Occasional exposure to clinical environments, blood/body fluids, and communicable diseases.
