Do you have a passion for engineering excellence and providing solutions for customers. Then you might be the person we are looking for to take on the role as our Application Engineer reporting to the R&D Manager in our Business Unit TenEx supporting the Expander brand.

As our Application Engineer your mission will be to understand customer requirements and pain points to communicate this to co-workers and provide technical solutions. You will collaborate with engineering on new product designs as well as support sales on new opportunities including visiting customer sites.

A background of working with heavy equipment, experience of field service or previous work as an engineer or technician is positive. You are a hands-on initiative taker who likes collaborating in a global team. In your way of working, you are a problem solver with attention to details.

This is a remotely based role in the United States supporting sales colleagues and customers in North & South America. Relocation is not being offered for this role.

As the Application Engineer on our team, you will:

  • Provide technical sales support to secure existing and future business including visiting customer sites

  • Actively gather the information needed to make new designs including research and measure applications

  • Collaborate with engineering and be the customer voice on new product designs, testing and launches

  • Make designs and design input in our proprietary design system.

  • Support BU TenEx at exhibitions

  • Make markets research and analysis as needed

  • Maintains knowledge of our products and services and participates in trainings as required.

  • This list is not all inclusive and may include other duties as assigned and necessary for the operation and management of the business.

Requirements & Desired Characteristics

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in an engineering Technical Field, and/or equivalent with a minimum of 5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment or similar industry

  • A background of working with heavy equipment, experience of field service or previous work as an engineer or technician is ideal

  • Technically and mechanically proficient.

  • Deals with internal and external customers on a daily basis.

  • Understand technical drawings and documents.

  • Ability to work under time deadlines with attention to details.

  • Ability to demonstrate effective interpersonal skills, as well as sound judgement, professionalism, confidentiality and good decision-making skills.

  • Ability to communicate effective and professionally, both verbally and in writing.

  • Willing and able to travel domestically and internationally when needed

  • Fluent in both spoken and written English language.
