Ensures accurate medical coding related to technology assessments, medical policies, claim payment policies and adhoc coding projects.

Develops code lists for benefit application, mandate application, and group exception requests working closely with the various areas include Legal department, Sales and Marketing, Product Operations and other key area.

Reviews coding sources to recommend and develop comprehensive listings of appropriate codes in accordance with coding guidelines, national sources and established rules.

Revises coding within policies in accordance with committee, management, medical director recommendations, or based on revision to policy.

Serves as a resource to company associates regarding medical coding issues related to departmental documents, projects and inquiries.

Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience. Coding Certification (CCS or CPC preferred). Minimum of three years' work experience in health care or health related position. Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills as well as the ability to effectively interact with all levels of staff and management. Demonstrated experience using medical coding systems, databases, and encoding tools. Microsoft Office proficient (Word and Excel). Detail oriented with the ability to work with minimal instruction or supervision functioning independently as well as in the team setting.
