As a Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant, you will provide compassionate care to our patients every day. Under the direction of a licensed physical therapist, you will organize and conduct medically prescribed therapy programs to restore function and prevent disability following disease, injury, or loss of body part. You will help patients reach their maximum performance and assume a place in society while learning to live within the limits of their capabilities. You will develop and maintain positive relationships with our patients, guests, other team members, and medical staff by striving for excellence in service and quality. You will be responsible for:
  • Practicing Physical Therapy consistent with American Physical Therapy Association Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice.
  • Respecting and understanding the patient's right to treatment and right to be involved in treatment decisions.
  • Implementing the rehabilitation plan with the patients and families, which include: interventions to reach reasonable goals; coordinated rehabilitation interventions; response to interventions, changes in condition, and progress toward goals; advocates support services to create new social support or environmental modifications. Completes all appropriate documentation to maximize financial remuneration.
  • Conferring with the person(s) most closely associated with the active management of the patient and keeps them informed of any additional patient needs, treatment modifications and/or progress.
  • Educating patients, families, caregivers, and other direct patient care providers to instruct, correct, and/or provide information about practice skills and techniques.
  • Participating in the improvement of patient satisfaction, job specific processes or procedures.
  • Participating in compliance with The Joint Commission standards, both departmentally and organization wide

What you will need:
  • Associate's of Science Degree, Physical Therapist Assistant
  • Current Georgia licensure to practice as a Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant
  • Previous experience in an acute care setting, skilled nursing or outpatient rehab is preferred.
