Summary

Performs advanced and/or diversified work on a highly skilled and specialized manner on a daily basis.

Job Description

Performs necessary tasks to ensure insurance procedures are followed in order to assist the patient and obtain maximum reimbursement for the organization; assists in maintaining budget and statistical records for the department to ensure financial viability; registers and schedules patients for therapy appointments. Computer skills sufficient to operate on-line systems and complex software with advanced functionality. Oral and written communication skills sufficient to interpret and apply policies and procedures for clarification and problem resolution. Must have an understanding of medical terminology, diagnosis and procedure codes; must have a working knowledge of third party payers. Medical office experience in a similar setting preferred. Must have excellent customer service skills.

Qualifications

Post secondary education or equivalent training in a health care or business related field is required; Associate's degree preferred.
Must have at least one year of applicable experience, with previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
