Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our high-acuity Surgical Trauma unit. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a diverse patient population, including individuals affected by surgical emergencies, gunshot wounds, quadriplegic and paraplegic conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality patient care in a high-acuity environment.
  • Assist in the management and treatment of diverse cases, including trauma patients.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Perform nursing assessments, develop care plans, and monitor patient progress.
  • Engage in effective communication during nurse handoff with ED nurses and admitting units.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a specialty, preferably in trauma or surgical nursing.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Experience with EPIC electronic medical records is required.
  • No requests for time off (RTO) will be accepted.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts without a block schedule is essential.
Patient Care Information

The unit maintains a patient-to-nurse ratio of 5:1 and is supported by nursing support technicians and phlebotomists. A unit secretary is available during nighttime hours to assist with administrative tasks.
