Summary:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Monitor patient claims processing and accounts receivable.
  • Contact patients, care centers, and customer service agents to resolve insurance or patient account issues.
  • Collaborate with departments to obtain information for filing, re-filing, and collection of outstanding accounts.
  • Maintain file accuracy and account tasking inModMed'spractice management system.
  • Provide excellent customer service to patients, physicians, staff, and vendors.
  • Utilize proper telephone etiquette and communication skills.
  • Develop and analyze reports for billing and insurance management.
  • Respond promptly to emails and tasks.
  • Communicate professionally and kindly with clinic staff.
  • Assistwith problem-solving and process improvement.
  • Utilize resources effectively and seek guidance when needed.
  • Work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Attend annual compliance training and pass testing.

Qualifications:

  • Education:High School Diploma or GED
  • Experience:1+ year of recent experience as a Medical Billing Specialist or similar role
  • Skills:
  • Understanding of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPS coding
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and insurance processes
  • Proficiencyin spreadsheet creation and analysis (Excel/Google Sheets)
  • Certifications/Licenses:Continuing education, certification courses, or education in billing and coding preferred.
  • Software:Knowledge of EMA/ModMed software strongly preferred

This position operates on-site in our Rockwall clinic.
