Job Description

We are currently seeking a professional, patient, and empathetic Back Office Medical Assistant to join our team! The ideal candidate will assist Physicians and clinical staff in the delivery of healthcare by performing a variety of medical and office-related tasks in both the Back and Front Office.


Core Job Duties (but not limited to):

  • Prepare patients for office visits and procedures
  • Obtain and document brief medical history and reason for visit in the patient’s chart
  • Perform and accurately record vital signs
  • Submit and follow up on medication prior authorizations with insurance companies
  • Communicate authorization status with providers, pharmacies, and patients
  • Assist providers with examinations and procedures as instructed
  • Assist providers with injections as ordered
  • Ensure patient demographic and insurance information is accurate
  • Triage patient phone calls and communicate appropriately with clinical staff


Requirements:

  • Strong written and communication skills
  • Must have experience working in a Medical Assistant position or directly related field, and at least 1 year working in the Back office
  • Proficiency with EMR system and excellent computer skills
  • Is an effective team player who contributes valuable ideas and feedback and can be counted on to meet commitments
  • Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication that is clear, well-organized, and understanding of audience needs
  • Bilingual (English required; Spanish proficiency strongly preferred)
  • Experience in surgical setting preferred but willing to train
