Job Title: Medical Assistant

Type: Staffing (Contract)
Status: Pending
Client: The Cigna Group
Location: 401 Corbett St., Suite 400, Powell Professional Center, Clearwater, FL
Assignment Duration: May 18, 2026 – December 31, 2026
Schedule: 40 hours/week (4 days/week, 10 hours/day)
Operational Hours: Monday–Friday, 6:45 AM – 5:15 PM
Positions Available: 1

Position Overview

We are seeking a qualified Medical Assistant to support direct patient care within the City of Clearwater department. This is a replacement role requiring a dependable professional with both clinical and administrative experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist physicians with patient examinations and treatments

  • Prepare patients for visits by obtaining medical histories and recording vital signs

  • Perform clinical tasks including drawing labs, administering injections, conducting EKGs, and completing point-of-care testing

  • Maintain patient flow and coordinate care activities

  • Prepare and clean examination rooms; sterilize instruments according to protocol

  • Administer medications as directed

  • Review preprinted instruction materials with patients

  • Perform general front and back office duties as needed

Required Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program

  • Current CPR certification

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant

  • Proficiency in both clinical and administrative (front and back office) functions

Required Skills

  • Strong customer service skills

  • Ability to accurately perform vital signs collection

  • Experience with lab draws and specimen handling

  • Competency in administering injections

  • Experience with point-of-care testing

  • Ability to perform EKGs
