Job description

We are seeking an experienced, bilingual OB/GYN Medical Assistant who is compassionate, dependable, and comfortable working in a busy medical office. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills, including phlebotomy and injections, as well as excellent communication and patient-service skills.


Required qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
  • Minimum 2 years of medical-office experience
  • Fluent in English and Spanish — required
  • Phlebotomy experience — required
  • Experience with injections
  • Comfortable assisting with gynecologic procedures
  • Strong patient communication skills
  • Comfortable answering phones and assisting patients
  • Able to communicate laboratory/test results to patients as directed by the provider
  • Computer/EMR experience
  • Athena experience preferred
  • OB/GYN experience preferred
  • Professional, dependable, compassionate, and organized

Main responsibilities:

  • Room patients and obtain vital signs
  • Gather the patient’s chief complaint and reason for visit and document relevant information for the provider
  • Prepare patients for examinations and procedures
  • Assist the physician with gynecologic procedures
  • Perform phlebotomy and specimen collection
  • Administer injections as directed
  • Maintain accurate patient records
  • Use Athena EMR
  • Answer incoming phone calls
  • Return patient calls
  • Communicate test/lab results to patients as directed by the provider
  • Assist with scheduling and other front-office responsibilities when needed
  • Provide excellent, compassionate patient care
  • Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment
