This Position is a Part-Time Instructional Position with an Hourly rate of $46-$48/hr.
Position Summary
St. Johns River State College seeks qualified adjunct faculty to provide instruction in the Medical Assisting program. The Medical Assisting Adjunct Instructor is responsible for supporting student learning through classroom, laboratory, and clinical instruction while maintaining program standards and fostering student success. Faculty members are expected to utilize effective instructional practices and maintain compliance with program, accreditation, and College requirements.

About the College - SJR State is a public college located in beautiful northeast Florida along the shores of the St. Johns River. With three campuses in Clay, Putnam, and St. Johns counties, SJR State serves nearly 10,000 students each year from among a population base of 600,000 in one of the fastest-growing areas of the country. Known for its natural beauty and quality of life, SJR State's service area includes St. Augustine, the nation's oldest city; Palatka, the "Gem City of the St. Johns;" and Orange Park, with roots going back to the Spanish period in Florida history.
Duties and Responsibilities
Instruction
• Teach assigned Medical Assisting courses in accordance with program and College standards
• Deliver instruction using effective teaching and learning strategies
• Evaluate student performance and provide timely feedback
• Maintain accurate attendance, grade, and course records
• Prepare and maintain instructional materials and course content
Student Support
• Promote student success through academic guidance and support
• Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment
• Communicate course expectations and performance standards clearly
• Refer students to appropriate College resources when needed
College and Professional Responsibilities
• Maintain compliance with program accreditation, College policies, and professional standards
• Participate in required faculty meetings, training, and professional development activities
• Utilize instructional technology and learning management systems as appropriate
• Complete other instructional duties as assigned
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
• Associate degree from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education required
• Credentialed Medical Assistant in good standing through an organization whose credentialing examination is accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA), American National Standards Institute (ANSI), or International Organization for Standardization (ISO) required
• Experience related to the profession of medical assisting required
• Medical or allied health training required
• Documented education in instructional methodology required
• Applicants must pass a background check, employment/reference verification, and drug screening
