This assignment offers the opportunity to join an established nighttime hospital medicine program supported by physician colleagues, comprehensive specialty backup, and expedited temporary privileges for qualified providers with clean credentialing files. Practice Environment
Practice within a busy regional referral hospital supporting a broad inpatient population with extensive physician specialty resources available around the clock.
Night coverage is provided through a collaborative model consisting of:
  • Two Hospitalist Physicians
  • One Advanced Practice Provider
This role is ideal for experienced inpatient NPs and PAs who thrive in autonomous, team-oriented nocturnist practice.
Clinical Practice
Typical responsibilities include:
  • Cross-coverage of hospitalized adult patients
  • Evaluation of acute clinical changes
  • New inpatient admissions
  • Coordination with consulting physicians
  • Stabilization and escalation of care when appropriate
  • Communication with multidisciplinary care teams
  • Documentation within Epic
Clinical Volumes
  • Approximately 160–200 patients covered overnight
  • Average 18–20 admissions each night
  • Approximately 2.5 patients per hour
  • Day census per provider averages 18–20 patients
