Job Summary

Plays a vital role in healthcare settings by providing both administrative and clinical support to physicians, nurses, and other medical staff. This position involves preparing patients for exams, taking vital signs, assisting during medical procedures, and handling routine office tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing medical records, and processing insurance forms.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Must be able to read, write, understand verbal and written communication.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous Medical Assistant experience.
  • Medical Assistant Certification preferred.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Record and report treatments, results, observations, patient complaints, and other pertinent information.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
  • Ensure patient safety.
  • Assist with orientation of new personnel.
  • Perform duties independently with little or no direct supervision.
  • Assist physicians with procedures and examinations.
  • Screen telephone calls and messages for providers.
  • Schedule surgeries, outpatient, and diagnostic procedures as ordered by physicians.
  • Process prescription needs as authorized by physicians.
  • Complete prior authorizations and referrals.
  • Administer injections.

  • Maintain professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Provide quality patient care and customer service.
  • Collaborate effectively with providers and staff.
  • Support clinic operations and workflow.
  • Follow organizational policies and procedures.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching, bending, kneeling, lifting, carrying, and computer use.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and more than 50 pounds with assistance.
  • Exposure to fluids and hazardous materials.
  • Use of wheelchairs, stretchers, carts, and patient transport equipment.
  • Classification: High Exposure Risk.
