About the Role:

The Medical Assistant plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of healthcare services at Long Island Select Healthcare Inc. This position involves a combination of clinical and administrative tasks that support patient care and enhance the overall patient experience. The Medical Assistant will work closely with healthcare professionals, including Nurse Practitioners, to provide high-quality care and assist in various medical procedures. By effectively managing patient interactions and performing essential medical tasks, the Medical Assistant contributes to the efficiency of the healthcare team. Ultimately, this role is vital in promoting patient health and well-being while maintaining a welcoming and organized environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant training program or equivalent experience.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a Medical Assistant in a clinical setting.
  • Certification as a Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA).
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, drawing blood, and preparing specimens for laboratory testing.
