Job Summary
Our client is seeking a dedicated Floater to provide comprehensive administrative and clinical support. This position requires managing patient interactions, ensuring efficient scheduling, and maintaining accurate medical records within an ambulatory care setting.
Key Responsibilities
  • Greeting and registering patients.
  • Completing patient check-in and check-out.
  • Scheduling and rescheduling appointments.
  • Answering and routing telephone calls.
  • Entering, updating, and verifying patient demographic, insurance information, and eligibility.
  • Collecting copays, coinsurance, deductibles, and outstanding balances.
  • Scanning, indexing, and processing documents within the electronic medical record.
  • Processing medical-record requests.
  • Coordinating referrals.
  • Completing insurance verification and prior authorization requests.
  • Assisting with administrative work queues and follow-up tasks.
  • Maintaining patient confidentiality and following HIPAA requirements.
  • Escorting and rooming patients.
  • Reviewing and updating patient medical histories.
  • Assisting providers with treatment and procedures.
  • Entering accurate patient information into the electronic medical record.
  • Cleaning, stocking, and maintaining clinical areas.
  • Providing patient instructions within the employee's training and scope.
  • Assisting with durable medical equipment documentation and dispensing.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Reliable transportation is required.
  • A minimum of two years of medical-office experience preferred.
  • Medical Assistant education or certification preferred.
  • Experience in multiple areas of a physician practice preferred.
  • Experience in front-office operations, clinical support, prior authorizations, and surgery scheduling is desirable.
  • Podiatry experience preferred.

Skills
  • Technical proficiency in electronic medical records.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

Additional Requirements
  • Ability to work flexible hours with varying start/end times between 7:30 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday.
