We are currently seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. In this role, you’ll provide direct patient care support and perform a variety of clinical and administrative tasks to ensure the highest quality of care and patient satisfaction.

Qualifications:
HS Diploma or GED required
Skills/Abilities:
Ability to travel to different locations as needed.
At least 1 year of directly related experience preferred
CPR – BLS (basic life support)
Ability to work as a team member.
Computer experience is desirable.
Ability to work with a culturally diverse group of people.
Must be willing to work flexible hours as required by position.
Essential Functions and Basic Duties:
• Assists with direct patient care procedures and related tasks; assists in obtaining patient histories, takes vital signs, prepares charts, and assists with medical examinations.
• Performs routine specialized procedures, such as HIV screenings, fluoride varnish application and sterile dressing changes under established protocols.
• Completes patient health screenings including hearing, vision, and all CLIA waived testing.
• Administers injections after appropriate training.
• Administers immunizations and medications that are not controlled substances.
• Maintains stock of medical supplies as necessary.
• Educates and advises patients on specified medical issues within established parameters.
• Schedules and monitors patient appointments; may coordinate routine office activities and administrative functions in support of unit activities.
• Practices safety, environmental, and/or infection control methods.
• May recruit patients for studies and may participate in outreach clinical activities as required.
• Performs patient education and discharge instructions.
• Completes referrals and schedules tests for patients.
• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Work Environment:
Work is primarily sedentary, demanding sitting, walking, lifting, and bending. Those physical movements and the degree of mobility, manual dexterity, and hand-eye coordination commonly associated with duties in an office setting will be performed repetitively. This also includes bending, twisting, reaching, lifting, pulling, pushing, and walking. The ability to distinguish letters and symbols and utilize telephones, computer terminals, fax machines, and copiers is required. The work environment characteristics described here represent those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
