Job Description:

The Apprenticeship Programs Manager is responsible for managing and executing the program development components of the Apprenticeship Team for the Technical College System of Georgia. This position will work under the direction of OWD's Director of Apprenticeships.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Managing the program development functions of TCSG's Apprenticeship Team, including;

    • Development of registered apprenticeship programs (RAPs);

    • Development of pre-apprenticeship programs;

    • Ensuring compliance with federal apprenticeship regulations, state laws, guidelines and standards;

    • Overseeing the apprenticeship service delivery throughout the state;

  • Assisting with development of statewide apprenticeships and business services strategy;

  • Representing the State of Georgia as the lead statewide point of contact for Georgia companies interesting in developing new Apprenticeship Programs;

  • Possessing and maintaining strong and comprehensive proficiency of workforce development services and resources for businesses, principally the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act and the National Apprenticeship Act;

  • Providing presentations to stakeholders on registered apprenticeship programs and state-level apprenticeship initiatives, etc.

  • Providing support to the State Workforce Development Board (SWDB) and TCSG State Board, as needed;

  • Drafting, editing, and presenting policy, research reports, and planning documents to agency leadership, SWDB, and other stakeholders;

  • Assist with State's efforts to become a State Apprenticeship Agency (SAA) as needed, including supporting the development of policies, and stakeholder engagement processes.

  • Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

A Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university *and* three (3) years of related work experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Graduate degree in a course of study related to the occupational field;

  • Knowledge and experience of the Registered Apprenticeship Programs (RAPs);

  • Knowledge and experience of the Workforce Innovation & Opportunity Act (WIOA);

  • Knowledge and experience of the National Apprenticeship Act and Apprenticeship guidelines

  • Experience with business, industry, and community engagement;

  • Experience with workforce training programs;

  • Experience with public speaking;

  • Experience with project/program management;

  • Time and task management skills

  • Basic computer skills and ability to adapt to job-related software programs

  • Organizational skills

  • Project management skills

  • Superior oral and written communication skills

  • Skills in interpersonal relations and customer service
