What is a Medical Artificial Intelligence Radiologist?

A Medical Artificial Intelligence Radiologist is a professional who combines expertise in radiology with advanced knowledge of artificial intelligence (AI) to interpret medical images and assist in diagnosing diseases. They use AI-powered tools and algorithms to analyze X-rays, CT scans, MRIs, and other imaging data, helping to improve accuracy, efficiency, and early detection of medical conditions. These specialists often collaborate with software developers, data scientists, and clinicians to develop and validate AI solutions that support clinical decision-making. Their role is evolving as AI technology becomes increasingly integrated into healthcare systems.

How does a Medical Artificial Intelligence Radiologist typically collaborate with IT specialists and other clinicians in their daily workflow?

Medical Artificial Intelligence Radiologists routinely work closely with IT professionals to ensure that AI tools integrate smoothly with hospital imaging systems and electronic health records. They also communicate with fellow radiologists and referring clinicians to interpret AI-generated findings, validate results, and discuss complex cases. This collaborative environment helps ensure that AI insights are clinically relevant and that patient care remains the top priority. Effective teamwork is essential for troubleshooting technical issues and optimizing the use of AI in diagnostic workflows.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Medical Artificial Intelligence Radiologist, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Medical Artificial Intelligence Radiologist, you need a strong foundation in medical imaging, radiology, and AI principles, typically supported by a medical degree, radiology board certification, and specialized training in artificial intelligence applications. Familiarity with medical imaging software, AI diagnostic tools, programming languages such as Python, and experience with machine learning platforms are essential. Analytical thinking, attention to detail, and effective communication are critical soft skills for interpreting complex data and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. These skills and qualities are crucial to ensure accurate diagnoses, optimize AI integration in clinical workflows, and improve patient outcomes.

Recruiting for this role ends on 11/20/2026.

Work you'll do

As a Senior Manager, Life Sciences Supply Chain & Operate, you will be responsible for:

  • Leading end-to-end BPO and Operate engagements across supply chain planning, manufacturing operations, quality and compliance, and procurement for biopharmaceutical, medical device, and broader life sciences clients
  • Serving as a trusted advisor and day-to-day delivery leader on multi-year Operate engagements, managing outcomes, service level agreements, and continuous improvement roadmaps while helping clients shift to value-linked, metrics-driven delivery models
  • Embedding artificial intelligence, automation, and analytics into BPO delivery through use cases such as intelligent document processing, test method harmonization, anomaly detection, agentic process automation, and AI-assisted decision support
  • Driving automation, digitization, and process standardization across client operations, including MES, Veeva, TrackWise, Kinaxis, and other life sciences technology environments, with an emphasis on integrating AI-enabled capabilities
  • Building Deloitte's Life Sciences BPO capability through offering development, reusable assets, talent pipeline development, pursuit support, and client-facing positioning that advances an intelligence-led operations model

A successful candidate would possess these skills:

  • Ability to work independently and collaborate as part of a team
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail and quality of work product
  • Ability to build and sustain professional relationships
  • Ability to lead projects or workstreams
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills and professional demeanor
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to mentor and provide clear guidance to others

The team

In an evolving customer and regulatory landscape, a mounting pipeline of next-generation assets, portfolio pressures, and intensifying competition are presenting new organizational and operational hurdles for Life Sciences companies. These complex market dynamics are requiring new levels of rigor and insight in business strategy development and problem-solving, both domestically and globally.

We are looking for practitioners who will work alongside Life Sciences organizations, from biotechnology firms to global pharmaceutical companies to medical device companies, to drive business value through end-to-end delivery of solutions based on strategy development for critical business issues.

This role sits within Enterprise Operations as a Service, Deloitte's AI-enabled managed services business, which combines industry expertise, advanced technology, and continuous optimization to help clients modernize operations and sustain performance at scale. The team helps clients move from labor-arbitrage models toward intelligence-led operations and build enduring operational advantage.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 10+ years of experience in life sciences consulting or life sciences industry operations, including 4+ years leading teams, programs, or client engagements
  • 3+ years of experience leading or managing business process outsourcing, managed services, or Operate engagements, including responsibility for one or more of the following: service level or key performance indicator (KPI) management, transition or mobilization activities, continuous improvement, or process optimization
  • 3+ years of experience supporting supply chain, manufacturing, quality, procurement, compliance, or regulated operations in a good practice (GxP) or current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) life sciences environment
  • Experience with one or more of the following: Manufacturing Execution System (MES) recipe authoring or modification, test method management, master data management, or product complaint triage and initial investigation
  • Ability to travel 25%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future

Preferred:

  • Experience in a consulting firm or in an internal transformation role within a life sciences organization
  • Experience with MES, quality management systems, laboratory information management systems, enterprise resource planning systems, Veeva, TrackWise, or Kinaxis
  • Experience designing or deploying artificial intelligence, automation, or analytics use cases within life sciences operations
  • Experience developing proposals, responses to requests for proposal, scope documents, or client presentations
  • Experience leading global or multi-site programs for life sciences clients

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $163,400 to $322,100.

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
