Press Brake Operator: Level 2 (Experienced)
PRESS BRAKE OPERATOR
General Devices is looking for an experienced Press Brake Operator to join our fabrication team. This role is ideal for someone with several years of press brake experience who can run production parts, perform basic setups, and ensure consistent quality.
We supply parts for world class customers in the earth moving equipment, medical, telecom and data center markets.
Hours: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM, Monday through Friday, Overtime available
Pay Range: $22 – $29 per hour depending on experience.
What You Will Do
- Operate Accurpress or Bystronic press brakes to produce sheet metal parts.
- Follow setup sheets and job travelers to run parts accurately.
- Perform basic setups including installing tooling and adjusting gauges using both setup sheets and loaded programs.
- The top level of this experience will work with engineering to develop blanks, and program machines for new parts.
- Load and unload material with or without assistance.
- Inspect parts using measuring tools such as calipers, gauges, and tape measures.
- Read blueprints and specifications to verify part dimensions.
- Alert quality and management if a part is out of tolerance.
- Identify raw material defects that may affect forming.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Work collaboratively with team members to meet production goals.
What We Are Looking For
- 2–5 years experience operating press brakes of any brand
- Ability to read basic blueprints and job travelers.
- Familiarity with sheet metal forming processes.
- Strong attention to detail and quality.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Arm and hand mobility required.
- Ability to lift to 40 pounds intermittently.
