Job description

The mediation function is part of the Family Court Services division of Court Administration. This position is responsible for providing mediation and related services to parties in Family Law proceedings throughout the Seventh Judicial Circuit Court. The position is headquartered in Daytona Beach, however, duties may be performed throughout the Circuit. Headquarters subject to change based upon the needs of the Court.
Certification as Family Mediator by the Supreme Court of Florida as per Rule 10.100(c), bachelor's degree and 5 years of related experience.
Also, otherwise meet the requirements set forth in Rule 10.100, Florida Rules for Certified and Court Appointed Mediators.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of the responsibilities and authority of family mediators, including ethical standards.
Knowledge of Florida Family Law and Procedure, financial literacy and court processes.
Skilled in the use of technology to complete daily tasks such as drafting mediated agreements, conducting virtual or hybrid mediations, and utilizing document-sharing platforms.
Ability to manage time and apply substantive preparation.
Ability to communicate clearly and utilize active listening.
Ability to manage tension and emotions while applying critical thinking, analysis and trust building.
This State-funded position is paid monthly and includes the State of Florida benefits package. The successful applicant is required to undergo a background check including fingerprinting.
