ABOUT THE ROLE

At SC Johnson Lifestyle Brands in San Francisco, we're home to a portfolio of high-growth challenger brands-including method, Mrs. Meyer's Clean Day, Ecover and Babyganics-built to do things a little differently.

As Media Strategy Manager, you'll help shape how our brands show up in the world, leading integrated media strategy that puts consumers at the center and turns insights and data into meaningful growth.

Reporting to the Director of Media Planning, you'll partner across teams and agencies to build breakthrough media plans, explore new channels and ideas, and continuously test, learn and optimize.

We're looking for a media-savvy, data-driven strategist who's curious about what's next, comfortable challenging the status quo, and excited to help our brands punch above their weight.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Media Strategy & Planning

  • Lead media strategy, planning, and implementation of brand media plans for our entire house of brands

  • Translate brand and business objectives into clear, actionable media strategies and investment recommendations

  • Build integrated, full-funnel media strategies that generate consumer demand and connect brand building to activation across the consumer journey

  • Champion a digital-first, consumer-centric mindset that meets our audience where they are

  • Develop cross-channel media plans across digital, Linear TV/CTV, Audio, OOH, Paid Social, and Custom Partnerships

  • Manage large-scale media investments, including forecasting, pacing, and financial reporting in partnership with Finance

  • Drive the effectiveness of brand and retail media investment, identifying opportunities to improve performance, efficiency and business impact across the full funnel.

  • Translate consumer, media and business insights into investment strategy, influencing channel mix, audience, flighting and optimization decisions.

  • Shape media strategy in partnership with brand, commercial and agency teams, clearly articulating investment choices, trade-offs and expected business outcomes.

Cross-Functional & Agency Leadership

  • Partner with Brand, Omni, Ecommerce, Social, Consumer Insights & Analytics, and other cross-functional teams to deliver cohesive consumer experiences across touchpoints

  • Act as an in-house media expert and trusted advisor to marketing teams and leadership, bringing a clear point of view on media strategy, investment, and emerging opportunities

  • Serve as a key strategic partner to media agencies, setting clear expectations and ensuring strong planning rigor, executional excellence, and accountability

  • Partner with creative teams and agencies to ensure media and creative strategies work together effectively

  • Lead agency and media partner relationships, setting clear expectations, challenging recommendations and ensuring partners deliver strategic value beyond execution.

  • Lead cross-functional collaboration across creative, analytics, brand, partnerships and influencer to ensure media strategy shows up cohesively and drives maximum impact.

Measurement, Optimization & Learning

  • Partner with Consumer Insights & Analytics to develop measurement plans, learning agendas, and testing frameworks that inform future strategy and investment

  • Socialize media and campaign performance across the organization

  • Use performance data and consumer insights to continuously optimize media investments and improve business outcomes

  • Lead a culture of experimentation, leveraging approaches such as brand lift, conversion lift, A/B testing, and marketing mix modeling to understand impact and identify opportunities

  • Advance media capabilities and best practices at scale, building stronger approaches to measurement, audience strategy, retail media, emerging channels and optimization.

Innovation & Media Excellence

  • Identify emerging platforms, technologies, partners, and consumer behaviors that can create competitive advantage for our brands

  • Drive thoughtful experimentation and innovation, balancing new opportunities with measurable business impact

  • Develop and evolve media best practices, frameworks, and ways of working to improve team efficiency and media effectiveness

  • Bring thought leadership on the evolving media, advertising, and ad tech landscape to marketing teams and leadership

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE YOU'LL BRING

  • Bachelors Degree and 7+ years of experience in media strategy, planning, execution and measurement, gained within an agency or in-house environment, including 2+ years managing agency partnerships.

  • 2+ years of experience using media analytics and campaign performance data to uncover insights, evaluate effectiveness and translate complex data into clear, actionable recommendations.

  • Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship

PREFERRED EXPERIENCES AND SKILLS

  • Experience in CPG or other consumer-focused industries

  • Experience working with mission-driven or challenger brands

  • Experience across both traditional and digital media channels

  • Familiarity with first-party data activation, audience development, and segmentation strategies

  • Proven track record developing and delivering national brand and performance marketing campaigns that drive measurable business results

  • Deep understanding of the media ecosystem, including strategic planning, activation, measurement, agencies, suppliers, platforms, and ad tech

  • Experience with media measurement methodologies such as brand lift, conversion lift, A/B testing, and marketing mix modeling

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and influence agency partners and cross-functional stakeholders

  • Strong communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to clearly articulate strategy, performance, and recommendations to a range of audiences

  • Curiosity and passion for media, consumer behavior, emerging technologies, and the rapidly evolving advertising landscape

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Full-time position, Located at the Lifestyle Brands Headquarters in San Francisco, CA
  • Remote work is available once per week for eligible employees after a 90-day onboarding period
  • Travel up to 10%
  • Ability to lift 10-40 pounds
  • This role is not offering domestic relocation

The Company's Total Rewards package is at or above industry levels. The expected base salary range for this position is between 145,839.00 USD - 191,413.00 USD. Job related skills, experience, education, and location will be considered in setting actual starting base salary. In addition to your base salary and depending on job level, eligibility, and performance, a total package may include profit sharing, a short-term incentive and/or long-term incentives.
