What is media productions?

Media productions refer to the process of creating, developing, and delivering content in various formats such as video, audio, film, or digital media. This typically involves several stages including pre-production (planning and scripting), production (capturing or recording content), and post-production (editing and finalizing the product). Media productions can be used for entertainment, advertising, education, news, or corporate communications. Professionals in this field work with technology, creativity, and collaboration to produce engaging and impactful media.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in media productions, and why are they important?

Rooted in the resilience and creativity of Detroit, our team thrives on innovation, collaboration, and accountability. Every member of our team contributes to our shared success, bringing unique perspectives and skillsets to the table.
About the Role
We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Rich Media Designer to join our creative team. This role will support the design, build, QA, and delivery of rich media and interactive digital ad units across client campaigns.
The ideal candidate combines strong visual design instincts with hands-on experience building HTML5 and platform-based rich media units. They will work within a creative request queue, collaborate closely with Client Services, Programmatic Operations, Product, and Development teams, and help bring new creative concepts to market through mockups, prototypes, and campaign-ready executions.
This role is important to expanding KORTX's rich media and creative services offering by delivering high-quality ad experiences that are visually engaging, technically sound, and aligned with client campaign objectives.
Our office is located in Berkley, MI, local candidates preferred.
What You'll Do
  • Design, build, and execute standard and custom rich media ad units, including display banners, expandable units, interstitials, interactive video, gamified units, countdowns, dynamic creative, and other interactive ad experiences.
  • Build and modify creative units in rich media platforms such as Celtra, with an understanding of platform capabilities, limitations, specifications, and QA requirements.
  • Create polished mockups, prototypes, and proof-of-concept units to support sales pitches, client presentations, and new creative service opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Client Services and Strategy teams to translate campaign goals, audience insights, and client feedback into compelling creative concepts.
  • Partner with Programmatic Operations and Development teams to troubleshoot creative, tracking, trafficking, rendering, and platform-related issues.
  • Apply and validate third-party tracking, including impression trackers, click trackers, viewability/verification tags, and other measurement pixels as needed.
  • Ensure all creative units meet brand guidelines, platform specifications, file-size limits, accessibility considerations, animation requirements, and QA standards.
  • Manage multiple creative requests through a queue-based workflow, prioritizing deadlines while maintaining a high level of quality and attention to detail.
  • Contribute new rich media concepts, interaction patterns, animation treatments, and reusable creative templates that can strengthen KORTX's go-to-market offering.
  • Stay current on digital advertising formats, rich media trends, HTML5 animation techniques, design tools, creative automation, and emerging ad platform capabilities.

What We're Looking For
  • 3+ years of experience in digital design, rich media production, creative technology, or a related advertising/marketing role.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing digital ad campaigns, rich media units, interactive experiences, animation, prototypes, or other digital creative work.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, especially Photoshop, Illustrator, and After Effects.
  • Experience with rich media or ad-building platforms such as Celtra, Google Web Designer, Studio, or similar platforms. Celtra experience is strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript as applied to digital ad formats.
  • Experience with Figma for layouts, mockups, components, and collaborative design workflows.
  • Strong understanding of digital ad specs, responsive/adaptive layouts, animation timing, file-size optimization, and cross-platform QA.
  • Excellent visual design skills with strong attention to typography, layout, motion, hierarchy, and brand consistency.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, queue-based environment while meeting deadlines and maintaining accuracy.
  • Strong communication skills and comfort collaborating with cross-functional teams, including Client Services, Programmatic Operations, Development, and Sales.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with GSAP, Lottie, JSON-based animation workflows, or lightweight JavaScript animation libraries.
  • Experience creating gamified ad units, dynamic creative templates, countdown units, product carousels, quizzes, polls, or interactive video overlays.
  • Familiarity with DSP and ad-serving environments such as The Trade Desk, Google Campaign Manager, DV360, Meta, or other digital media platforms.
  • Understanding of third-party measurement, click tracking, impression tracking, viewability vendors, and QA workflows.
  • Basic knowledge of creative automation, feed-based creative, dynamic content, or API-driven creative experiences.
  • Experience creating sales-facing mockups, prototypes, and concept visuals for new business opportunities.

Competitive compensation and benefits package
  • Annual Salary of $75,000-95,000 commensurate with experience and qualifications
  • Medical, Vision and Dental on day 1 for you and your family
  • Open Vacation Policy
  • Opportunity for discretionary bonus
  • Paid Maternity and Paternity programs
  • Safe Harbor 401k plan with employer match
  • Wellness and cell phone stipend
  • Birthday gift card and employee tenure bonus
  • Hybrid work environment that emphasizes flexibility and balance, offering the option to work from home or from our modern office in Berkley, MI.
