About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a technically minded Media Operations Technician to join the Daily Mail US production team. The role is ideal for someone with 2-3 years of experience in AV, broadcast, video production, live production, studio operations, or a related technical environment.

Working closely with editorial, production, video, and technical teams, you will help ensure that audio and video content is captured, processed, transferred, monitored, and delivered accurately and efficiently. You will provide hands-on technical support for studio productions, interviews, live events, remote shoots, and day-to-day media operations.

This role requires strong technical aptitude, attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and the confidence to work calmly in a fast-paced digital media environment where deadlines and priorities can change quickly.

About What You'll Do
  • Set up, test, operate, and maintain professional audio and video equipment used for studio, live, remote, and editorial productions.
  • Provide hands-on AV and technical support for interviews, live shoots, newsroom productions, events, and other media projects.
  • Monitor live and recorded audio and video feeds to identify and resolve technical or quality issues.
  • Ingest, transfer, organize, and prepare video and audio assets for production and digital distribution.
  • Perform quality control checks on media content, including audio levels, video quality, synchronization, resolution, frame rates, and file formats.
  • Troubleshoot cameras, microphones, monitors, playback systems, signal paths, and other production equipment.
  • Support production teams with technical setup, testing, and troubleshooting before and during productions.
  • Assist with the operation and monitoring of media servers, storage systems, file-transfer platforms, and other media workflows.
  • Maintain production equipment and ensure studios and production spaces are properly configured and ready for use.
  • Follow established technical and media workflows to ensure content is delivered accurately and on deadline.
  • Work closely with producers, editors, journalists, photographers, and other technical staff to support daily production requirements.
  • Identify recurring technical issues and work with senior technical or engineering staff to resolve them and improve workflows.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment, technical issues, and operational procedures as required.
  • Provide occasional technical support outside standard hours, including evenings, weekends, or holidays, when required by live events, breaking news, or production schedules.

About You
The ideal candidate is a hands-on, technically curious, and dependable media professional who enjoys working with AV equipment, production technology, and digital media workflows. You are comfortable troubleshooting problems, working under pressure, and supporting multiple productions and stakeholders throughout the day.

You have a practical understanding of how audio and video equipment works and can confidently set up, operate, and troubleshoot production technology. You don't necessarily need to come from a traditional broadcast environment; experience in AV, live events, studio production, corporate video, streaming, or other hands-on production environments is highly relevant.

  • You are collaborative, adaptable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-moving newsroom where priorities can change quickly.
  • 2-3 years of experience in media operations, AV, broadcast, video production, live production, studio operations, or a related technical environment.
  • Hands-on experience setting up, operating, and troubleshooting professional audio and video equipment.
  • Working knowledge of video and audio formats, codecs, resolutions, frame rates, and basic signal flow.
  • Experience troubleshooting technical issues in live, production, or deadline-driven environments.
  • Familiarity with professional AV equipment, including cameras, microphones, monitors, lighting, playback systems, and related production technology.
  • Comfortable working with computers, media servers, file-transfer systems, and digital production tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality control.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm and effective under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with editorial, production, and technical teams.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
  • Basic understanding of networking and technical troubleshooting is a plus.
  • Experience with Adobe Premiere Pro or other professional video editing applications is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with SDI, NDI, Dante, IP video, streaming technologies, or other professional AV workflows is a plus.
  • Experience in a newsroom, broadcast, digital media, studio, live events, or production environment is advantageous.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings, weekends, or holidays when required.

About What We Offer
  • Opportunity to work for one of the world's most recognized news brands.
  • Fast-paced, collaborative newsroom and production environment.
  • Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.
  • Health, dental, vision, life insurance, and 401(k).
