MARKETING MANAGER

Reports to: Statewide Sales Director / Assistant Store Manager
Status: Regular, Full-Time, Exempt
Location: Anchorage or Fairbanks, AK
Compensation: $60k-$80k DOE

JOB SUMMARY

The Marketing Manager supports the communications, marketing, and customer engagement needs of RES (Renewable Solutions), with a focus on daytoday execution, content development, digital tools management, and operational marketing support. 

This hands-on role is responsible for implementing marketing campaigns based on sales and event calendars, developing store and event signage, collateral, and other production activities, maintaining digital and instore brand consistency, supporting CRM and email automation tools, and ensuring proactive communication flow with leadership and store teams. 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Champion Aleut values: accountability, transparency and rigor. 
  • Collaborate with leadership and the Aleut MARCOMM team on RES marketing strategy, ensuring brand consistency across marketing materials, digital platforms, instore assets, and print collateral.
  • Primarily support RES marketing and communications needs, while providing project-based support for other Aleut Energy subsidiaries as needed.
  • Implement and manage marketing plans for RES, including promotional calendar planning, campaign execution, media placements, and the development of creative assets.
  • Coordinate monthly marketing reviews with Aleut and RES leadership, preparing agendas, materials, insights, and proactive planning updates.
  • Monitor and produce accurate monthly reports on leads, sales numbers, campaign performance, KPIs, and customer journey insights; track progress against goals, identify trends or gaps, and present datadriven recommendations for performance improvement to leadership.
  • Manage website content, including SEOaligned updates, store reviews, social media, email, digital screens, newsletters, announcements, and customerfacing communications.
  • Conduct regular store visits to assess signage, brand execution, customer experience touchpoints, and locationspecific marketing needs; maintain accurate and compliant instore signage.
  • Support operational marketing needs including local events, sponsorships, community outreach, and storespecific content.
  • Maintain annual promotional and media calendars, collaborating with Aleut MARCOMM quarterly to align messaging, timing, and budget planning.
  • Build and maintain relationships with vendors, media partners, printers, and contractors supporting subsidiary marketing activities.
  • Keep a pulse on opportunities to amplify company stories across various communication channels and improve collaboration and processes for more impactful communications.
  • Foster a collaborative team environment that encourages open communication and supports positive working relationships across departments and subsidiaries.
  • Lead routine internal and external communications as needed.
  • Primarily support RES marketing and communications needs, while providing project-based support for other Aleut Energy subsidiaries as needed.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, CRM tools (SharpSpring and Odoo), email marketing automation, and digital publishing platforms.
  • Experience with Adobe Express or similar design products to create, adapt, and maintain branded marketing materials.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
  • Ability to synthesize data into clear insights and actionable recommendations.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with corporate leadership, store managers, vendors, and community partners.
  • Professional judgment in managing branding, messaging, and customerfacing communications.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work with corporate management, employees, media, and the larger community.
  • Ability to coordinate efforts of various teams in order to present a coherent message.
  • Ability to travel quarterly to store locations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field OR equivalent combination of experience, education and/or training.
  2. Five (5) years of experience in communications, public relations, including comprehensive marketing experience.
    1. Experience with CRM systems, email automation, or retail marketing preferred.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Experience with Alaska Native Corporations.

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to travel quarterly (Alaska instate travel).
