What is a media creator?

Media Creators are professionals who produce content for various platforms, including video, audio, photography, and digital media. They use creative skills and technical knowledge to develop engaging materials for audiences, often working for brands, organizations, or themselves as freelancers. Media Creators may specialize in areas such as filmmaking, podcasting, social media content, or graphic design, and are involved in every stage of the production process—from planning and scripting to editing and publishing. Their work is essential for marketing, entertainment, education, and communication purposes in today’s digital world.

How do you become a media creator?

To become a media creator, you typically develop skills in content production, editing, and storytelling using tools like Adobe Creative Suite or Final Cut Pro. Building a portfolio, gaining experience through internships or personal projects, and understanding social media platforms are important steps in establishing a career in media creation.

How does a media creator typically collaborate with other departments during a project?

Media Creators often work closely with marketing, design, and communications teams to ensure content aligns with brand messaging and campaign goals. Collaboration usually involves brainstorming sessions, reviewing scripts or storyboards, and incorporating feedback from stakeholders. Social Media Architect

We are seeking a Social Media Architect to join our Social Media division. This role is ideal for someone who is both a strategic thinker and a strong writer, with a passion for crafting thoughtful and engaging content that informs and entertains.

This position requires strong attention to detail and project management skills, along with a sense of humor and quick wit that our clients genuinely appreciate. The Senior Social Media Architect should feel comfortable adapting tone of voice to suit each unique client and using language specific to the client’s industry and the geography they serve.

In this role, you will contribute to and execute social media strategies that support broader marketing goals, with a focus on expanding brand awareness and driving traffic to our clients’ websites. Content may include, but is not limited to, social media captions and graphics, video stories, and LinkedIn newsletters.

We are seeking a full-time team member based in the Greater Boston area. This is a hybrid role that requires a minimum of three days per week in the office.

Responsibilities

  • Plan social initiatives to drive awareness, website traffic, and new business leads for clients.
  • Develop social content creation strategies that support our clients’ business goals and are based on trending and timely keyword research.
  • Create social posts that align with the brand identity of each client.
  • Oversee the design of social posts to match brand style guides for each client.
  • Develop a strategy to follow and engage with the content posted on the social channels of our clients’ customers and prospects.
  • Like and respond to comments made on clients’ social channels.
  • Maintain clients’ Google, Bing, Yelp, and Apple Maps business pages.
  • Respond to positive Google reviews and collaborate with the client to address negative ones swiftly and professionally.
  • Review social media analytics to determine campaign success and pivot a client’s social strategy as needed.
  • Own the social media toolset, including scheduling software, and identify opportunities to introduce new tools that improve workflow, performance, or reporting.
  • Stay updated on industry news, technology, and trends, and adjust social strategy as needed.

Skills

  • Utilizing social media tools such as Social Pilot, Sprout Social, or other scheduling software, Facebook Business Manager, LinkedIn Ads Manager, Canva, Bitly, Linktree, and iMovie (or comparable video platforms).
  • Understanding keyword research tools, such as Mangools, Ubersuggest, and Google Trends.
  • Using AI research tools such as Gemini and ChatGPT, with a clear understanding of how to apply them thoughtfully and ethically for ideation, content development, and image creation.
  • Optimizing posting practices across Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, and YouTube, with a strong understanding of how each platform functions and serves different audiences.
  • A basic understanding of WordPress, GA4, and Adobe is a plus.

Requirements

  • Deep understanding of major social media platforms, including Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube, with the ability to maximize audience engagement on each.
  • Exceptional creative writing and self-editing skills, including the ability to adopt the style, tone, and voice of a wide range of clients.
  • An analytical mindset and interest in using data and research to identify the most effective and potentially new platforms to amplify clients’ messages.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to work independently, manage projects with many moving parts, and regularly update project managers on progress.
  • Willingness to accept constructive feedback and turn around edits efficiently when needed.
  • Minimum of four years of professional social media management experience.
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent professional experience.
