ABOUT BONE & JOINT
Bone and Joint has one of the most comprehensive teams of orthopedic, pain management, podiatric, physical and occupational therapy experts in Northcentral Wisconsin. We aren't a division of another corporate healthcare organization; Bone & Joint belongs to us and we have numerous locations throughout Central Wisconsin. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A HIM SPECIALIST /RECORDS REQUESTOR
Your duties will include requesting records from necessary sources and locations for upcoming patient visits. You will work closely with team members to make sure that all records are obtained for visits at all our locations. You will work with internal clinical staff members for any special requests and short notice add-on appointments. There will be times you will need to scan, and index protected health information into our EHR system. You will have one on one meetings with your supervisor and have monthly team huddles, where you will learn what is happening around the organization. One of the most important responsibilities in this role will be to abide by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) state and federal regulations. Don't worry, our training process is excellent, and you will be up to speed in no time.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR A HIM SPECIALIST/RECORDS REQUESTOR
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Medical Terminology
  • Computer Skills (Microsoft Office)
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Customer Service Skills
  • High level attention to detail and accuracy

WORK SCHEDULE
This position is on site and requires working Monday - Friday from 8:00am - 4:30pm with a 30-minute lunch break. There may be times when asked to work a flexible schedule to cover for vacations and illness.
